About

I see they're out dragging the river, looking for a clue
To bring 'em back, before the deluge
When the pain didn't crescent with the pull of the moon,
The banks overflowed with the promise of you

I've been a musician since I was 15 years old. My first love
has always been the guitar. Along the way, I ventured
down many paths learning different instruments such
as, piano, mandolin, drums, lap steel, tin whistle, harmonica,
etc...but I always came back to the guitar.

One day I uncovered an old 4-track cassette player at a garage sale that allowed me
to layer multiple instruments on top of each other to create recordings that sounded like a full band was accompaning me. This motivated me to write and experiement. That old 4-track player was held together by rubber bands and the process was slow and tedious...but in the end, I always found it a very fun and expressive experience...a labour of love!

Along came digital recording. I was able to get a hold of software such as Cakewalk Sonar, Sound Forge and ProTools. This majorly streamlined the process for me. Once you go digital...you never go back! Ironically, I now spend hours trying to get that "analog" sound that came so naturally on my ol' beat up 4-track! I eventually up building a small studio in my basement based around ProTools 7.4. I also house my guitar collection in that studio.

Influences::

My main influences come from what I consider an odd collection of "favorites." To start, my Irish roots have me at home with traditional Celtic music. I also am also a big fan of some other "non-traditional" Irish musicians, notably Van Morrison, Mike Dougherty, and The Swell Season. My other influences are pulled from the Americana, Southern Rock, Alt-Country, Electric Blues, Roots Reggae, and Singer/Songwriter genres.
