Big funky 70's Fender headstock, crystal clear, authentic strat sound Review: This guitar has a true unmistakable crystal clear strat sound. With most Fender instruments, you buy the American guitars to hold some value, but if you are looking for an awesome "players" guitar, don't shy from the Mexican made guitars. You have to play a lot of them before you find the right one but when you do, you'll find a guitar you can't part with. I love the feel of the neck on this guitar. It's a fat, yet comfortable U-style maple neck. The maple neck helps give the natual bite to the Strat sound. The alnico pickups are strong and clear, I really love the versitility of this guitar. It's not the most popular version of the strat, most players prefer the '62 and older designs, but I love my funky 70's style strat!Performance Notes: The guitars tone really shines through when played through my Marshall AVT50 with some compression from my MXR Super Comp pedal. It really smokes when I kick in my Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive Pedal. If you are serious about studio work and not pissing off fellow bandmates, I highly recommend adding a noisegate on your pedalboard. The single-coil pickups produce quite a bit of 60 cycle hum when brought up to performance level volumes!Audio: You can hear this guitar on the song "Wake Up Momma" in the Music section. Video:
